THE VALUE OF A GENUINE CHRISTIAN
Many people seem to be interested in the value of everything. How much does that car cost?
How much did your house cost? How much did that new dress (or suit) cost? What is the current
market value of gold? Some of these same folks seem to be consumed with placing a value on
everything they see. Many of them place little or no value on being a Christian. I want to point out
that these people are wrong--dead wrong. A genuine Christian does have value! What is that value?
Consider the following:
1. In a world described as a crooked and perverse generation the genuine Christian serves as a light
(Phil. 2:15; Matt. 5:16). 2. In a world of corruption, the genuine Christian is a preservative (Matt. 5:13). 3. In a world of hostility and hate, the genuine Christian manifests love (Matt. 5:43-47). 4. In a world of ignorance, the genuine Christian brings knowledge from God’s Word (John 8:32). 5. In a world of turmoil and strife, the genuine Christian brings peace (Matt. 5:9). 6. In a world dominated by Satan, the genuine Christian exemplifies the Spirit of God (Rom. 8:4). 7. In unreasonable times, the genuine Christian will display moderation (Phil. 4:5). 8. In a world of impurity, the genuine Christian will be a model of purity (1 Tim. 5:22). 9. While the world gives notice to that which is worldly and sensual, the genuine Christian gives
glory to God and His righteousness (Rom. 15:5-6). 10. The genuine Christian keeps alive the hope of immortality in a world of despair (2 Tim. 2:10). If you are a genuine Christian, let no one deceive you--you do have great value! If you are not
yet a Christian, you can become one and then you will have the same great value in the eyes of God!
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: The man who cannot be angry with evil usually lacks
enthusiasm for good.
Have a great week!
Love ya,
Jesse
