SCIENCE FALSELY SO CALLED

The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust,
avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called” (1 Tim. 6:20,
KJV). A number of years ago an Austin, Texas newspaper ran a story of a discovery in Ethiopia:
the first complete skull of what might be humanity’s earliest ancestor--an agile, ape-like creature

whose descendants developed language, discovered fire and invented tools. This skull even pre-
dates the “Lucy” skeleton found there in 1974. It was first discovered by the presence of gravel-
sized flakes and eventually the team unearthed 200 rock-encrusted fragments.

I am convinced the theory of evolution is bad science and I want to quote from the article to
show you why.

“The first complete skull of what might be humanity’s earliest known ancestor...The three-
million year old skull is the strongest evidence yet that a single ancestral primate species thrived

across Africa for one million years without change...The species roamed the continent until
something abruptly spurred the developments that led to modern humans...Experts...said the new
skull is compelling argument for the theory that the evolution of human life on earth proceeded
in fits and starts....The skull is from a large adult male perhaps no more than four feet tall...He is
the root of the human family tree (theory?)...the species was as widespread as baboons are today

...At first grave sized flakes of the fossilized skull were discovered and eventually the team un-
earthed 200 rock-encrusted fragments--enough to reconstruct almost an entire skull...One

scientist said, ‘For me, the skull is a dream come true.” (I wonder how much dreaming was read
into the find)...The traditional theory of evolution suggests that any species acquires new
characteristics gradually...Other fossil discovered...have a long forearm--more like a chimpanzee
than a human, indicating the hominid had strong arms, suitable for climbing trees...That had led
experts to suggest that the species was less evolved than the discoverers would like to believe...It
may have spent much time in the trees...While no one knows what may have spurred pre-humans
to develop intelligence...”
Did you notice how many perhaps and might haves are involved in all this discussion and yet
the skull and his friends are “the root of the family tree”? I would suggest that they have found a
species of ape (a male baboon stands three or four feet tall) or they are trying to reconstruct
evidence to match their theories. This is simply bad science! It is all fiction based on guesswork.
Life is simply too complex to be an accident. I still believe God created all life and the scientists
have yet to produce evidence showing life forms in their so-called development stages.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: You can’t get anywhere unless you start.

Love ya,
Jesse
